The wait after the NPTE is long, and the dates are easy to get wrong. The good news is that FSBPT publishes them in advance for every test window. Here's when your result arrives, what you'll see, and the exact date for each window through 2028.
When do NPTE scores come out?
NPTE-PT pass/fail status is posted to your FSBPT dashboard, and sent to your state board, about five business days after the testing window ends. For the October 27–28, 2026 exam that's November 4. The free score report with your numeric scaled score follows about a week later: November 12, 2026 for that window.

What you'll see, and in what order
- Score status (pass or fail) appears on your FSBPT dashboard. FSBPT sends it to the jurisdiction you chose at registration on the same day; you don't need to do anything.
- The free score report shows your numeric scaled score (200–800, with 600 to pass) and your status. It's free to view for 30 days, so download it. After that you'd need to buy an Individual Score Report.
- A Performance Feedback Report can be bought if you want diagnostics by content area, body system and exam section. It's most useful if you're planning a retake.
Why everyone in a window waits the same amount of time
Scores aren't released test-by-test. FSBPT releases status for the whole window at once, after additional validation and screening. So whether you tested on the first or the second day, your result comes on the same date.
What can delay an NPTE score?
FSBPT sometimes withholds scores for extra validation. The Handbook lists the reasons:
- an incident at the test center that needs investigating;
- a mismatch between your registration data and Prometric's data;
- response patterns suggesting a very narrow range of studying;
- an answer pattern very similar to another candidate's;
- a very low score, near guessing; or
- a very large score increase from a previous attempt.
If your score is held, FSBPT emails you and asks how you prepared. Respond promptly and accurately. Candidates who don't complete the process within 60 days of testing can have their scores canceled.
After your result
If you passed, your score goes to your state automatically; contact the board to finish licensure. To send it to another state later, a score transfer costs $90.
